Mohamed Kahin Ahmed, Somaliland’s Minister of Interior, confirmed that authorities have arrested the person who has been inciting clans in Sanaag Province to fight.
The man is suspected to have carried out the killing in Fadhi-Gaab town that provoked clans in the region to start fighting.
The Interior Minister expressed gratitude to Chief Faisal Abokor Hassan, who leads the clan from which the suspect hails.
He said Chief Hassan played a crucial role together with the local security commander to nab the suspect.
Kahin has been in the region for several months trying to quell the skirmishes that threaten peace and security in Sanaag Province.
The region has been a hotbed of recurring skirmishes. Kahin and security officials hope to restore peace and security in the area.
