Somali Police Force (SPF) officers have arrested members of several gangs in Mogadishu.
The gang members have been harassing the residents of Mogadishu for a long time. Insecurity levels had shot up considerably courtesy of their work.
A spokesperson for the police said that the July 5 operation was designed to end the gangs’ reign of terror.
During Tuesday’s exercise, the police officers also seized marijuana and guns.
They also captured dozens of contraband alcohol.
The residents of Mogadishu have been victims of gang attacks for several months now. With the arrest of the gang, the residents can now sleep easily.
