A potential car bomb attack in Mogadishu has been foiled.
Security agents in the nation’s capital foiled the attack that had been earmarked for early Saturday morning.
Nevertheless, the bomb still went off.
Witnesses reported seeing an explosion next to a police checkpoint at Warliliska in Deynile, Mogadishu.
Upon checking, security forces discovered the source of the blast as improvised explosive devices (IEDs) hidden in a car.
Apparently, the IEDs had been hidden among vegetables inside the car.
Preliminary reports show that no one was killed or injured in the blast.
Nevertheless, police were able to arrest two people suspected to have been behind the wheels of the explosives-laden vehicle.
