Puntland President Said Abdilahi Deni has accused the Federal Government of Somalia, under President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo, of fomenting unrest in the country.
Deni says Farmaajo’s administration has been taking part in activities likely to threaten the peace and stability that Somaliland currently enjoys.
Somaliland has been a haven of peace and stability in a region that has suffered decades of instability and armed conflicts.
According to President Deni, the Federal Government of Somalia has been talking with clans in Somaliland without informing local authorities or Presidential Office in Hargeisa.
Deni says that the fact Mogadishu has been involved in such talks is a clear sign of its intentions to create disharmony between the public and the government of Somaliland.
The leader of Puntlant has reiterated his desire to see an agreement reached between Somalia and Somaliland regarding the latter’s destiny.
