The leader of the regional state of Puntland has finally returned home after weeks away in Mogadishu.
President Said Abdullahi Deni had traveled to Mogadishu earlier this month ahead of the presidential elections that were due for May 15.
He was among the many candidates that vied in this month’s presidential elections. ‘
Deni wasn’t the only leader of a regional state to travel to the nation’s capital for the elections, though.
Nevertheless, he was the only one yet to return home.
Finally, President Deni traveled to Puntland on Tuesday, May 31.
Vice President Ahmed Karash joined other regional government officials in welcoming President Deni back home.
