President Said Abdullahi Deni of Somalia’s semiautonomous region of Puntland met with several leaders to discuss the latest developments in the state.
The Monday meeting saw Deni meet leaders from several political associations and parties.
Further, he also met with representatives from civil society groups, scholars, and local elders to discuss the latest issues affecting Puntland.
Deni’s meeting with the opinion-shapers in his region comes a few days after he returned from an official tour of Djibouti.
He also expects to brief the leaders on the developments from Dhusamareb where an electoral deal was signed between Federal Government of Somalia and Federal Member States.
Puntland’s ongoing pursuit of economic and security reforms as well as the democratization process and the upcoming Somalia polls are also likely to feature prominently during the talks.
