A delegation that includes President Mohamed Farmaajo left Mogadishu to visit Barawe, a southern port city.
During the trip, President Farmaajo will unveil a new airport in Barawe, which also doubles as the Southwest State’s administrative capital.
Accompanying the President in his tour will be a retinue of top government officials, including Abdiasis Hassan Mohamed, Southwest State’s leader, who is also known as Lafta Gareen.
Apart from unveiling the airport, President Farmaajo and his team will launch many other development projects in the region.
Last week, the First Lady of Somalia, Her Excellency Sainab Moalim, was in Barawe. During her tour, she laid the foundation stone for the construction of a new health center.
