President Farmaajo’s government has proved incapable of ridding Somalia the tag of being the world’s most corrupt country.
In its latest assessment, Transparency International (TI) confined Somalia to the bottom of the list of the most corrupt nations in the world.
TI has consistently listed the Horn of Africa nation at the bottom. This represents the 13th straight year when Somalia finds itself topping the list of the most corrupt countries.
According to TI, Somalia is number 180. It has a corruption perception index of 9 out of 100. TI assessed 180 countries on a CPI of 0-100.
In 2018, Somalia’s CPI was 10 out of 100. TI says that the fragility in Somalia has played a major part in entrenching corruption in the nation. Poor rule of law also contributed to the ranking.
