President Uhuru Kenyatta welcomed the restoration of diplomatic ties between Kenya and Somalia.
Kenyatta said this on August 10 when he meet with the Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble.
Prime Minister Roble is in the Kenyan coastal town of Mombasa for an official visit at the invitation of President Kenyatta.
Roble arrived in Nairobi on Monday and immediately traveled to Mombasa where President Kenyatta is currently at.
The talks between Kenyatta and Roble took place at State House, Mombasa.
Kenyatta said that the two countries need more collaboration in areas such as security, trade, and investment.
For this to happen, Kenyatta believes that Kenya and Somalia must fully implement the 2015 Joint Commission for Cooperation (JCC).
On his part, Roble expressed his regret at the recent deterioration of diplomatic relations between the two East African nations.
