President Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed Laftagaren of Somalia’s semiautonomous state of Southwest has sacked two of his cabinet ministers in a mini reshuffle.
A statement from his office said that President Laftagaren had relieved Abdullahi Warsame Dofan of his duties as the Deputy Minister of Constitution.
Abdullahi Abdille Haji, who had served as the Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources, has also been fired.
While announcing their sackings, President Laftagaren’s office also indicated that eight ministers and deputy ministers had been appointed.
Mohamed Abdirahman Nur becomes the new Minister of Constitution while Ilyas Said Ali takes over as the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources.
The Minister of Interior and Local Government would now be Abdimalik Ibrahim Abdulle.
New deputy ministers include Adan Mohamed Osman and Olad Mohamed Ali who take over as the new Deputy Minister for the Constitution and the Deputy Minister for Security respectively.
Shamsa Sheikh Ibrahim and Ahmed Derow Ahmed is the Deputy Minister of Family Affairs and Human Rights, Deputy Minister of Labour respectively.
Mohamed Moalim Abdulle is the new Deputy Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources.
