President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud arrived in Dhusamareb on the second day of his ongoing tour of different areas in Somalia.
Mohamud was in Baidoa earlier on Wednesday, June 1.
A day later, he arrived in Dhusamareb, which is in the regional state of Galmudug for a series of meetings with local leaders.
Galmudug’s President Ahmed Abdi Karie Qoorqoor joined other regional leaders in welcoming the Somali President.
Members of Parliament (MPs) representing Galmudug in the House of the People (Lower House) were also present to welcome Mohamud.
Senators who represent Galmudug’s interests in Senate (Upper House) also showed up to accord President Mohamud a warm welcome into the region.
During his time in Galmudug, President Mohamud is scheduled to assess the impact of the ongoing drought on residents.
