President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud attended the funeral prayer of the late Ugaas Abdullahi Ugaas Farah, a respected traditional elder, held in the capital city of Mogadishu on Friday.
The President was joined by the Presidents of Galmudug and HirShabelle states, as well as several senior government officials and dignitaries.
In his remarks, President Mohamud expressed deep condolences to the family of the late Ugaas and the Somali people at large, praising Ugaas Abdullahi’s lifelong contributions to peace, unity, and traditional leadership in Somalia.
“Ugaas Abdullahi was a symbol of wisdom and reconciliation. His legacy will continue to inspire future generations,” President Mohamud said.
The gathering highlighted the deep respect held for traditional leaders in Somali society and underscored national unity in times of mourning.
