Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud led the country in mourning the death of Shinzo Abe, a former Prime Minister of Japan.
Ex-Premier Abe died on July 8 a few hours after a man shot him.
Doctors were unable to stabilize or revive him. Abe died almost six hours after being shot while campaigning.
He died at Nara Medical University Hospital.
In his message of condolences, President Mohamud said that the government and people of Japan join Japan in mourning the killing of former Prime Minister Abe.
He also relayed a message of solidarity to Abe’s family, friends, and colleagues.
The 67-year old Abe is Japan’s longest-serving leader.
Police have already arrested Tetsuya Yamagami, a 41-year old man suspected of shooting the ex-Prime Minister.
