President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud ordered the release of several prisoners on Sunday while leading the nation in observing the Eid al-Fitr.
The Somali President pardoned 114 prisoners, as confirmed by Villa Somalia.
This is not the first time he’s doing it either.
In 2023, President Mohamud pardoned over 120 prisoners then followed this up by granting 116 prisoners their freedom in 2024.
