President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has received a delegation of officials from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
The USAID officials are currently in Mogadishu, Somalia on an official visit.
Ambassador Samantha Power, the Administrator of USAID, led her colleagues to visit Villa Somalia for a meeting with President Mohamud on Sunday, July 24.
President Mohamud expressed his delight and appreciation to the USAID team.
He commended USAID for its history of supporting Somalia and its people over the years too.
In their meeting, President Mohamud briefed the USAID delegation on the measures that his government is taking to address the ongoing drought and the attendant humanitarian crisis.
He assured Ambassador Power and the USAID team that his government remains committed to intensifying the fight against terrorist groups in Somalia.
The Somali President also informed his guests that his administration has prioritized political stability, democratization, and reconciliation.
