President Mohamud Visits Wounded Local Heroes in Mogadishu Hospitals

Mogadishu, Somalia – President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud paid a heartfelt visit on Monday evening to members of the local forces who were wounded in the ongoing military operations against terrorist groups. The injured personnel, currently receiving treatment in hospitals across Mogadishu, had fought courageously alongside the Somali National Armed Forces in recent confrontations aimed at eliminating extremist threats.

During his visit, President Mohamud expressed profound gratitude for the sacrifices made by the wounded heroes. He commended their bravery and dedication in defending the nation’s security and underscored the critical role they play in Somalia’s long and difficult journey toward peace and stability.

“You are not alone,” the President told the injured fighters. “The Somali people and your government stand firmly with you. Your courage is the foundation of our security, and your sacrifices will never be forgotten.”

President Mohamud also assured the wounded soldiers that the government is committed to providing full medical care and comprehensive support throughout their recovery. He emphasized that honoring and caring for those who risk their lives in service to the country is both a moral duty and a national obligation.

The visit comes amid intensified military operations across several regions in Somalia, where local and national forces have joined hands to drive out terrorist elements and reclaim strategic areas. The President’s presence at the hospitals served as a powerful gesture of unity and appreciation, boosting the morale of not only the wounded personnel but also the broader security apparatus.

Officials from the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Defense accompanied the President during his hospital tour and reiterated the government’s plan to strengthen rehabilitation programs and post-treatment support for injured servicemen and women.

The visit highlights President Mohamud’s ongoing efforts to prioritize the welfare of frontline personnel and to ensure that Somalia’s path to security and development remains inclusive and grounded in compassion and national solidarity.
