President Mohamed Abdi Ware of HirShabelle State has handed over US$1.1 million to the Beledweyne Floods Commission.
The donation was from the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) and the government of Djibouti, which donated $500,000 and $600,000 respectively.
The National Flood Commission of Somalia also contributed towards the fund with a donation of $40,000 to push the total to $1,140,000.
Last week, the government of Djibouti donated a consignment featuring 90 tons of food supplies to be distributed among civilians displaced by the recent floods in Hiran region.
