Presidential Candidates and Representatives of the International Community Meet in Mogadishu

Opposition presidential candidates met representatives of the international community in Mogadishu on Tuesday, November 24.

The meeting was conducted virtually as part of the protocols put in place to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the East African nation.

United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM) organized the meeting with the candidates.

UNSOM stated that the meeting was part of the regular consultations it holds with political figures in the Horn of Africa country.

The presidential aspirants briefed representatives of the international community on the upcoming elections, which are set to take place in February 2021.

The aspirants brought the representatives up to date on the progress of the ongoing meeting among opposition leaders in Mogadishu.
