Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has apologized for the inconvenience caused by the closure of roads in Mogadishu this past weekend.
On Sunday, the main roads in the nation’s capital were closed as Prime Minister Roble led a delegation of government ministers and senior officials to inspect public hospitals.
The road closures inconvenience pedestrians, passengers, and drivers greatly.
Schoolchildren were also unable to report to school or return home on time as a traffic gridlock ensued.
On Tuesday, Roble issued a statement “apologizing for the inconvenience.”
He reminded Somalis that a month ago he was one of those affected by road closures and told the people of Mogadishu that they do not deserve to suffer further.
Roble assured Somalis that such incidences would not reoccur and that they would always have fast and efficient ways of accessing schools, health facilities, and workplaces.
