Prime Minister Barre Visits Historic Djiboutian Town

Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre of Somalia visited a historic Djiboutian town on Wednesday, November 9.

The Somali Prime Minister visited Arta town.

Arta town holds great memories for Somalis as it is the town where Somalia’s transitional government was formed in 2000.

The transitional government was the result of a reconciliation conference held in the same Djiboutian town.

It came after a decade of a civil war that took thousands of lives.

The civil war left Somalia without a functioning government.

Prime Minister Barre is currently on an official visit to Djibouti at the invitation of his counterpart Aboulkader Kamil Mohamed.
