Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble held a meeting with a former President of Somalia in Cairo on August 18.
Roble, who is on an official visit to Egypt at the invitation of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, met with Somali ex-President Abdiqasim Salad Hassan on Wednesday.
The meeting between Prime Minister Roble and ex-Presiednt Hassan took place at the latter’s residence in Cairo.
Hassan served as Somalia’s President between August 26, 2000 and October 10, 2004.
He was the first Somalia President under the Transitional National Government (TNG).
Since retiring from politics, ex-President Hassan has repeatedly called for a safer Somalia for all.
Roble commended him for his role in working for a stable Somalia while serving as president and in his post-politics life.
The Prime Minister briefed ex-President Hassan on the country’s ongoing elections. He also received advice from the former leader.
