In Mogadishu, hundreds of Somalis rushed to the streets to protest the shooting of civilians by the police.
The protestors hijacked several police vehicles on Saturday a day after police shot two civilians who were protesting the decision by the Federal Government of Somalia to extend curfew.
Protestors lit bonfires on the streets while blocking entries to Mogadishu. Mainly, youths and middle-aged men participated in the protests.
They called for “justice” while prodding President Farmaajo to resign over his handling of the COVID-19 crisis and the subsequent displeasure expressed by Somalis via protestations.
Further, protestors also blamed police for “being reckless” while imposing the curfew. They also chanted “down with Farmaajo” during the street protests.
