Puntland Discusses Development of Bosaso Port with Subsidiary of DP World

Puntland authorities, led by President Said Abdullahi Deni, have opened discussions with a subsidiary of DP World about Bosaso Port.

On Sunday, October 25, Deni’s office said that the President was in discussions with P&O Ports about “fixing shortcomings in a 30-year agreement to fix the Port of Bosaso.”

The agreement was signed in early 2017.

Multiple sources from the government indicate that the Dubai-owned port operator has fallen short of the project’s goal.

The deal to operate the Port of Bosaso is worth $336 million.

President Deni released a video message saying that he remains confident of finding a “lasting solution” with P&O Ports on Bosaso Port.
