Puntland Elections Riddled with Confusion in Several Polling Stations, Claims Civil Society

The civil society has claimed that Puntland elections were full of confusion in several polling stations.

Puntland’s civil society added that the confusion wasn’t as widespread in all areas, though.

The region held local government elections (LGEs) on Thursday, May 25.

In a press briefing, the civil society organizations accused police of interfering with the process in several polling stations.

They called the interference a “disgrace” to the process.

They join a few political parties that said the polls were full of “voter fraud and malpractice.”
