President Said Abdullahi Deni of Puntland has asked the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to offer the region’s Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) more support.
Deni was speaking on August 20 when he held a meeting with Magatte Guisse, the UNHCR Representative to Somalia.
President Deni and Guisse discussed several issues affecting the regional state.
Some of these include the importance of strengthening cooperation between Puntland and UNHCR.
Apart from that, Deni and Guisse also talked about IDPs, returnees, and refugees. The issue of mixed movements in Puntland was another item the two leaders discussed.
