A police chief in the regional state of Puntland has been shot and murdered.
Reports from the region indicate that Omar Hiirad was shot and killed on the morning of Wednesday, June 15.
Unknown people were behind the incident that has left residents and authorities shocked.
Hiirad, who is the police commissioner of Qardho District in Puntland, had been leading an operation against drug dealers in the region.
