Puntland’s President Said Abdullahi Deni has reshuffled his regional police bosses in a continued shakeup of his administration.
He announced the latest reshuffles on Sunday, November 7.
In the announcement, President Deni has reshuffled regional police commanders as well as ports police chiefs.
Senior officers within his presidential guard have also been affected.
Consequently, Brigadier General Omar Abdi Elmi is the new Head of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) within the Puntland Police Force.
Similarly, Mohamud Silal Omar takes over as the new Deputy Director of Puntland’s Maritime Police Force (PMPF).
Hussein Ali Mohamud, who has been the Bari Police Commandant, moves to Nugal where he would take up a similar position.
General Abdulkadir Jama Dirir becomes the new Bari Police Commandant after leaving his position as Head of the Presidential Guard.
Deni announced the new changes barely a week after sacking Hassan Abdi Yare as the Puntland police boss.
