President Said Abdullahi Deni of the regional state of Puntland has reshuffled the local security team.
He announced a new team on Wednesday, October 27.
The Puntland leader appointed Brigadier General Mumin Abdi Shire as the new regional police commissioner.
Brig. Gen. Shire takes over from Major General Mohamed Abdi Hashi.
Prior to his new appointment, Brig. Gen. Shire had been in charge of the Mudug regional police force.
Mohamud Abdihakin Yusuf has taken over the Mudug post.
Furthermore, President Deni has also appointed General Muhyadin Ahmed Musa to head the Puntland anti-terrorism unit.
Gen. Muhyadin had been the regional police chief until 2020 when he was fired following the killing of Abdisalan Gujir in a terrorist attack in March of that year.
At the time of his killing, Gujir had been the Governor of the Nugal region.
