The Vice President of the regional state of Puntland led Janaza prayers for an elder who passed away in Turkey while receiving treatment.
Vice President Ahmed E. Osman Karaash led the prayers the airport while receiving the body of the late Garaad Mohamud Osman.
At the time of his death, Osman had been one of Puntland’s most respected traditional elders.
Osman died in Turkey on Saturday, April 2.
Officials from the federal parliament were at the airport to receive Osman’s body. They were in the company of officials from Puntland councils.
Religious leaders attended Tuesday’s event too.
