Qatar has expressed its willingness to help Somalia to handle the effects of the impending El Nino.
El Nino is expected in the Horn of Africa region in the next few weeks.
Experts have warned Somalia to be ready for adverse weather conditions.
This could include floods and incessant downpours.
In some cases, typhoons might be the order of the day.
Abdalla bin Salim, the Qatari Ambassador to Somalia, discussed this with Mahamuud Moallim on Tuesday.
Moallim is the Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SODMA).
Further, Amb. Salim assured Moallim of Qatari’s support for projects designed to improve stabilization in areas recently liberated from Al-Shabaab.
