Galmudug’s President Ahmed Abdi Karie Qoorqoor held a meeting with one of the fiercest critics of President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo
Qoorqoor met with Abdirahman Abdishakur, the leader of opposition Wadajir Party, on December 4.
Their meeting takes place when the country is deep in electioneering mood.
Somalia is scheduled to hold parliamentary elections in December 2020 before following that up with presidential polls in February 2021.
However, there are concerns that the parliamentary polls might be delayed, especially now that the opposition doubts the integrity of the electoral commissions.
Qoorqoor is one of Farmaajo’s most trusted allies.
