Galmudug’s President Ahmed Abdi Karie Qoorqoor held meetings with the residents of Guri-El town, which has been the scene of deadly clashes in recent days.
Qoorqoor traveled to Guri-El for the meeting with local administration as well as elders, women, youths, and the business community on October 28.
The meeting took place on Thursday evening.
During the meeting, Qoorqoor and representatives of the different groups he met discussed ways of restoring stability in the town and the surrounding areas.
Clashes between federal government troops and Ahlu Sunna militia broke out on October 23.
They lasted three days.
In that time, over 100 people lost their lives, more than 600 were injured, and hundreds of thousands were left displaced.
During the meeting, the participants discussed ways of strengthening cooperation as a solution for improving security.
