Radio Muqdisho has started broadcasting in Italian.
The radio station, which is state-owned, has been broadcasting purely in Somali for decades.
As from January 1, 2022, it started broadcasting programmes and interviews in Italian.
Osman Dubbe, the federal Minister of Information, announced that the Italian broadcasts were part of his plans for the New Year, 2022.
Last year, the station promised to start the broadcasts soon.
On Saturday, Dubbe announced that Radio Muqdisho would start broadcasting in other foreign languages too.
