Record Rainfall in Gedo Damages an IDP Camp

Record rainfall reported in Gedo region in Jubbaland this week left a camp for the internally displaced persons (IDPs) completely damaged.

The rainfall was the highest ever recorded in Dolow since 2016.

Moreover, it also interfered with the lives and daily activities of more than 10,000 local residents.

Consequently, there are fears that floods might follow after water levels in the local river soared drastically in the last few hours.

Authorities have called on the residents to move to higher and safer grounds.
