Lasanod police chief has declared political campaigns unwelcome in any hotel in the region with immediate effect.
The police chief issued a written directive to all hotels in the region warning them against hosting political campaigns within their facilities.
Lately, politicians interested in vying in the upcoming parliamentary elections have been holding political campaigns in several hotels in the region.
According to the police chief, the campaigns and meetings are a violation of Somaliland’s sovereignty.
He also reminded the management of all hotels in Lasanod that security agents in the region would not issue any other warning, as this one was the last.
Security officers in the region have been instructed to enforce the directive and identify any hotel or residential property that breaches this ban.
