Religious leaders in Somalia have commended the federal government for defending the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
On Wednesday, the leaders and scholars issued a statement commending the government.
They issued the statement at the end of a meeting held in Mogadishu earlier today.
The scholars called upon Somalis from all walks of life to rally behind the initiative by the government to defend the country.
“We call upon all Somalis to put aside their differences and get behind this cause,” the religious scholars said in their statement.
They spoke in reference to the agreement signed last week between Somaliland and Ethiopia.
