Remembrance Ceremony Held for Slain Radio Muqdisho Director

A remembrance ceremony was held in Mogadishu on November 29 for the slain Director of Radio Muqdisho.

Abdiasis Afrika, the Director of Radio Muqdisho, lost his life last week when Al-Shabaab militants blew up the media station’s premises.

He lost his life.

Two other colleagues, who were in the building at the time of the attack, suffered injuries and were rushed to hospital.

On Monday, several journalists attended Afrika’s remembrance event.

Anab Mohamed, the Director of Kalsan TV, described the late Afrika as “a kind person who was ready to help anyone in need.”

Mowliid Haji Abdi, a journalist with BBC Somalia, described Afrika as a “great patriot.”

Abdirahman Adala, the Deputy Minister of Information, attended the event on phone.

During his speech, Adala said that although everyone linked to Afrika felt the loss, none of them was scared.

He promised that the media fraternity would keep Afrika’s legacy.

The remembrance event took place in London.
