Residents of a Puntland Village Receive Water from SHF Project

Residents of a village in Puntland benefited from a water project that’s managed by Somali Humanitarian Fund (SHF).

A report from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), shows that 900 villagers received the water on Wednesday, June 22.

The SHF project benefited the residents of Bandar Salaam village in Puntland’s Burtinle District.

Drought and humanitarian conditions have been worsening in the regional state of Puntland.

According to OCHA officials and other experts, the situation has led to a sharp rise in rural-urban migration.

More people are moving from their rural homes to urban centers in search of food, water, and pasture.
