Retired Somali Army General Killed in Afrik Hotel Attack Buried in Guriceel

A former Somali National Army (SNA) general who was killed in the Afrik Hotel terror attack over the weekend has been buried.

Retired General Mohamed Nur Galal was among the nine killed when four Al-Shabaab extremists attacked Afrik Hotel in Mogadishu on January 31.

General Galal was accorded a military-style burial on February 1.

His body was airlifted to Guriceel, a town in Galmudug State on Monday where it was later buried covered in full military colors.

Mahad Salad, a serving member of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, led several dignitaries to attend the former military commander’s burial.
