River Shabelle to Experience Flooding

Somali Water and Land Information Management (SWALIM) announced that River Shabelle is expected to experience flooding from October 3-5.

Consequently, residents living in areas along the river have been urged to leave the place and move to higher grounds.

Further, they have been encouraged to be on the lookout for possible flash floods.

SWALIM also announced that Nugaal, Galgaduud, Mudug, and Hiraan are all likely to experience heavy storms in the next few days.

The heavy storms could then cause flash floods.

Other places whose residents are asked to be watchful because of the high possibility of flash floods include Sool and Bakool.
