Roble Calls on Somali Businesses to Help Drought-Stricken Families

Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has called upon businesses in Somalia to support drought-stricken families around the country.

The Prime Minister made this call on November 21 during a meeting with business leaders.

In his address to the leaders, Prime Minister Roble urged them to play a leading role in helping the country provide humanitarian assistance to the needy.

Drought has left thousands of Somali families in the country at risk of hunger and starvation.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) continues to call on the international community to help Somalia.

More than 5 million Somalis face the risk of starvation.

Members of the Drought Relief Committee, which Prime Minister Roble recently appointed, also attended Sunday’s function.
