Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has sent condolences to the victims of the terror attack targeting a renowned hotel in Mogadishu.
Roble condemned organizers of the terror attack that killed 9 individuals in the country’s capital on January 31.
On Sunday evening, four Al-Shabaab militants carried out a daring suicide bombing attack outside the hotel, which is near Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu.
Afterward, they forced their way into the hotel where they laid siege for close to 8 hours.
Eventually, security forces overpowered the four militants. Security officers killed three of the extremists after the other one blew himself up.
On Monday, Roble condoled with the families and friends of the dead, who included General Mohamed Nur Galal, a war hero who “served Somalia with vigor for over five decades.”
Roble reminded Somalis that the terror attack at Afrik Hotel provided yet more proof of the “type of savage enemy the country faces today.”
Prime Minister Roble urged Somalis to unite and work closely with authorities to wage a successful war against purveyors of terror.
