Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has confirmed that Somalia will hold elections for the Lower House soon.
While the East African nation has already held elections for Upper House seats at the regional level, there is plenty of uncertainty regarding Lower House polls.
Moreover, the country is behind the schedule with elections.
On October 18, Roble assured Somalis that parliamentary polls would take place soon.
According to Somalia’s Provisional Constitution, dictates that elections ought to take place every four years.
Prime Minister Roble is in charge of electoral preparations.
While addressing the media, Roble said that he’s been consulting the regional state leaders to make sure that elections take place in the next few weeks.
