The newly appointed Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia invited and held long discussion with the leader of the Wadajir Party.
Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble welcomed Abdirahman Abdishakur to Villa Somalia for a meeting touching on wide-ranging issues.
Mostly, the two leaders discussed the upcoming elections in Somalia.
They agreed that the country must prepare for timely, free, fair, and credible elections in November 2020 and March 2021.
Somalia is scheduled to hold parliamentary polls in 2020 followed by presidential elections in early 2021.
Speaking after the meeting, Abdishakur said that the Prime Minister assured him that the government was not interested in term extensions.
Abdishakur also spoke about the Prime Minister’s desire to be fair to all.
The leader of the opposition party expressed gratitude to Hon. Abtidon Yare for facilitating his meeting with Prime Minister Roble.
