Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has removed Mohamed Hassan Irro from the Federal Elections Implementation Team (FEIT).
The Prime Minister issued a directive on April 4 calling for Irro’s removal from FEIT.
In the Prime Minister’s order, Abdirahman Abdiaziz Adam also ceases to be an employee of the federal elections body.
Instead, Prime Minister Roble appointed Irshad Mohamud and Hassan Ali Yusuf in their place.
Irro and Adam, who had been FEIT’s Secretary-General, are close allies of President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo.
Adam had protested the decision FEIT made to cancel some elections results from the Southwest State.
Initially, Irro served as the Chairman of FEIT before his removal.
Nevertheless, he had continued serving the elections body in a different capacity.
Muse Yusuf took over from Irro as the head of FEIT.
