Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has suspended Somalia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
Roble suspended Abdisaid Muse after finding him guilty of abusing power.
The Prime Minister announced Muse’s suspension in a press release dated Tuesday, May 24.
According to Roble, the foreign affairs minister had authorized the illegal shipment of charcoal from Somalia.
Moreover, the Prime Minister nullified the letter Muse wrote authorizing the shipment.
Muse’s suspension is effective immediately.
His suspension comes even as the new President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is currently working on forming and announcing his cabinet.
