Roble to Travel to Egypt on Official Visit

Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble of Somalia is to travel to Egypt on an official visit from Monday, August 16.

The plane carrying Roble is scheduled to depart to Egypt after the Prime Minister received an official invitation from Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.

Roble departs for his second official visit outside Somalia in two weeks.

Last week, he traveled to Kenya for a three-day tour courtesy of an official invitation that he received from President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Several members of the Prime Minister’s cabinet will accompany him as he travels to Egypt.

While in Egypt, the Prime Minister’s itinerary would include meetings with senior government officials of the North African country.

Further, he is also in line to meet members of the Somali community who live, study, and work in Egypt.

Al-Sisi and Roble are scheduled to discuss about bilateral relations between Egypt and Somalia.

Prime Minister Roble is likely to be back by either Wednesday or Thursday since he has convened a National Consultative Forum on August 19.
