Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has asked Speaker Abdi Hashi of the Upper House and Deputy Prime Minister Mahdi Gulaid for a list of candidates for Somaliland’s senatorial elections.
Roble spoke after the two most senior leaders from Somaliland in the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) buried the hatchet and decided to work together.
The Speaker and Deputy Prime Minister have been at loggerheads over the composition and leadership of the team in charge of Somaliland’s elections for the Upper House seats.
On September 16, Prime Minister Roble hosted Hashi and Gulaid in his office for a meeting.
During the meeting, he informed the two leaders that he expects a list featuring the names of candidates interested in vying for the Upper House in his office soon.
