Farmers in Somaliland’s Sanaag region have received a donation of irrigation pumps from the national government.
They received the donation on December 7.
Ahmed Mumin Seed, the Minister of Agriculture, handed over the donation while on a working visit in the region.
Sanaag farmers received 60 water pumps and several accessories that included irrigation kits from the government.
The agriculture minister stated his hope and belief in the ability of the farmers to boost Somaliland’s agricultural output.
Mumin expressed hope that rural households would now have improved access to adequate food and nutrition.
Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) provided the pumps and kits that the agriculture minister delivered to farmers in the region.
