The Saudi Arabian Embassy in Somalia’s capital of Mogadishu has been reopened.
News regarding the reopening of the Saudi Embassy was announced on Friday, November 19.
Saudi’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the news.
In June this year, a delegation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia visited Somalia and held a series of meetings with top officials of the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS).
During that visit, officials from both sides confirmed the likelihood of reopening the Saudi Embassy.
For years, Saudi Arabia’s presence in Somalia has been courtesy of its Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya.
